Portia was born in South Australia and bred by Paula Wachtel. She made the journey West at 8 weeks of age, and we are so happy to have her here! Portia is an outgoing girl who loves to give lots of kisses. She has lovely bone and substance, good angulation, nice movement, a lovely head and the sweetest of faces!! |

Born in a litter of 6 pups, Portia was the last pup out and the only girl! Hence her name - as she was my "last chance" for a girl from a mating I had been waiting for for more than a year! Portia is sired by a full brother to Grand Ch Tookurra Spirit Oth Nite, her dam goes back to the old Lindenbrae lines. She will bring exciting new blood to our breeding program and no doubt a lot of fun too! Portia easily completed her Australian Champion title before her 2nd birthday and has recently started trialling in agility, already picking up her novice agility, jumping, snooker and gamblers titles, and with some very nice placings too! She has also commenced sheep work and successfully achieved her HIC on 19/8/07. |

Although only occasionally seen in the showring these days (to make way for the youngsters) Portia always puts in a good showing! She was Challenge Bitch and Runner Up in Show at the Border Collie Club of Victoria Championship Show. (Judge: Mrs L Harrison of Tullacrest Border Collies) |

Portia has had three litters thus far - all containing 7 black/white pups. Each of three girls and four boys - now thats consistent! Her first litter sired by Am Grand CH Winpara Dragonfire consisted of two conformation champions CH Winpara A Kinda Magik who lives in Qld and CH Winpara Lucky Shot who stayed with us. Both boys now retired from the ring having notched up some lovely wins during their careers including Best in Group, Class in show and Best of Breed at Perth Royal Show. A third pup Winpara Dark Desire was almost half way to her title when she was retired and two other pups compete in agility. A daughter Winpara Evie Does It AD JD SPD qualifying for the finals at the Agility Nationals in both 2008 and 2010 Portia's second and third litters were sired by CH Winpara Secret Obsession ADM JDM JDO GD SD SPD. The older of the litters recently turning 2yrs and already one conformation champion CH Winpara Soul Dreamer who lives in Tasmania. Winpara As You Like it stayed with us and is a hair away from her title with another brother Winpara Measure For Measure also having won a CC and Best of Breed award. The younger litter turn one in April 2011 and have only been shown a handful of times to date. We look forward to the future for Winpara Son Of A Gun who lives in South Australia with Portia's breeder Paula and also Winpara Fortunate Son who is staying with us. A daughter, Winpara Obsessed By Chance is living in Qld and looking towards a career in agility and flyball when she is older. Portia is full of the joy of life and does everything with much gusto!! Her nickname of Miss Pushy Push suits her well - and we love her for it! |
